Dear Kendra,
Just so you know, if I had to do it all over again. I'd climb on a fire truck and ride off into life with you any day!
Thanks for 23 great years.

Dear Kendra,
Just so you know, if I had to do it all over again. I'd climb on a fire truck and ride off into life with you any day!

As I was leaving for work this morning, I glanced over at my parent's house and saw a note taped to the back door. I walked over to investigate and found this treasure:
I've blogged before about the morning ritual Christian shares each day with his grandfather. This kid really does live the good life. Last week, my dad spent several days in the hospital, which put a major dent in Christian's breakfast routine. I took him to visit PopPop in the hospital and my dad made it clear that he would be coming home soon. Christian leaned over and politely mentioned, "So I'll see you tomorrow for breakfast?"
I could not script a better relationship than this, but what I loved most about this picture is that it's clear that this time together is important to both of them. PopPop did not want his little buddy to be confused: "Go get changed...Come out to me...We'll have breakfast later."
As I drove out the driveway, I stopped to snap this quick picture of my dad. He's been out of the hospital two days. It's 6:30AM and there he is in the middle of his grapes. His favorite place on earth. Working hard and waiting for his little buddy to show up.

It's Cinco De Mayo and you know what that means? It's time for chips, salsa, margaritas and another birthday for our favorite little superhero. That's right MightyJoe hit the big six this year.
It was so much easier to just hold up five fingers (and if you look closely, you will see his name tag is upside down, so he can see his name...oh Joe!).
Join us in celebrating God's goodness and faithfulness!

This week I took PopPop and Jack to see Willie Nelson and Family at our local community theater. It was a great night listening to a country music legend. At 82 years old, Willie puts on a fantastic show. He hit all of his classics and our third row seats in this small auditorium was a perfect venue for hearing one of the greats.
My dad (just one year older than Willie) had a great time clapping along! He loved all the old classics, but I personally think he really enjoyed Willie's new ballad: "Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die." Here's a clip of the song from our show below.
I've enjoyed his music over the years and even though I'm not a die-hard fan, it was pretty cool to see a music legend perform. It was even more fun to go to the show knowing that three generations of Fletchers were enjoying the same music.
If you want to hear the full song, this is a video from Jimmy Kimmel about a week before we saw him perform.

I was throwing out an old sketch pad and found a few funny pictures from a project that Jack and I worked on a few years ago. It was during the London Olympics and we decided to doodle a few pictures with the theme: REJECTED OLYMPIC EVENTS.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Can you think of any rejected events? Let us know in the comments below.
