Cheese and Quackers
Monday, May 18, 2009 at 12:10AM
Oh yeah...we adopted a pair of ducks. They were left over from a school project and our friends called and asked if we'd take them. The way we looked at it...we have a pond, we have plenty of bugs, and we generally like fun animals...what could go wrong?

Congratulations!
We have a duck.
And 20 hens, 4 roosters, 40-ish meat chickens, 8 guineas, 3 goslings, and 7 turkey poults..
But the duck... oh my. Let's just say I hope they don't figure out how to get up into your beautiful fountain. What they do to their water or any muddy spot in the ground is just terrible!
:) Good luck! :)
Yeah, the ducks found the mud...and apparently they like to poop too.

Good luck with the poop containment! Just be careful it can be addicting - I picked up another chicken for the yard this weekend - nothing better than a pet that makes you breakfast! Now I just need to get some pigs - although their contribution to the meal is a little more dedicated so to say!
Oh my word I just realized that you HAVE been posting over here, but Bloglines has NOT been telling me that information. UGH. Seems that happened with your wife's site as well...
I'll be back one of these days to do some catching up...
LOVE the names for your ducks. I've always thought ducks would be great soley because they eat slugs. And slugs are just about the grossest thing God ever made.
Stacy...You mean I've been posting all this time and you haven't even been reading? I could have gotten away with a lot of good NW digs...
:)
