40 Days of Water!

Since our family has decided to do hard things in 2009, we began to look around our church, our community and our world. We have been looking to find where God is already at work and how we can join Him.  Oddly enough, a number of different times, we've been drawn to projects that are creating fresh water, wells, or just raising awareness worldwide to the problems associated with contaminated water. It began with Kendra's dad and brother traveling to Guatemala to build fresh water wells with Living Water International, then a great reminder from the Advent Conspiracy at Christmas time, and now a simple introduction to the problem by Blood:Water Mission.

Will you join us?

This is a simple way to get involved. Did you know that $1 is enough to provide an African with clean water for a year? For 40 days, from March 1st through April 9th, join us in our commitment to drink just tap water. Keep a tally of all the money you would have spent on coffee, tea, soft drinks, or whatever...then at the end of the 40 days, take that money and donate it to help create clean water wells.

Maybe you can't travel to build wells? Central America and Africa too far? Travel budget already spent? Kids too young? What could be easier than giving up an extra shot of Starbucks this next month? In the future, we might ask you to join us as we travel to build wells, but for now...how about saving your change to help a life in Africa. Drop a comment to let us know that you will join us in the 40 Days of Water and then use the chart below to help you track your progress!
