The Joy of Resurrection

"For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures" - the Apostle Paul in his first letter to the church in Corinth.

Our family celebrated the resurrection with a quiet afternoon at home.  After church, we gathered for a terrific Easter feast, complete with a full complement of flavors and tastes:

Kendra outdid herself...grilled lamb-kabobs, rice pilaf, fresh asparagus, fruit (and a nice bottle of Rutherford Hill Cabernet for the mangoman).  You may also notice all the silver jugs in front of the kids...it was time for the annual disbursement of the water bottles and, although I predict they will be lost or missing lids by April, I wanted a photo that showed everyone with their own bottle!  By the way, can I say how it has become a complete drag that the mangokids love all the same good food that we love now...there are never any leftovers!

When we finished lunch, we sent the big boys on a scavenger hunt to find a few easter goodies that we got for them (a box of peeps and these funny little chickens that "laid" hubba-bubba bubble gum eggs when you wind them up).

There is a joke here somewhere about a chicken with his head cut off...

As the day was coming to a close and the warm valley sun was setting in the west, I walked out to inspect the newly sprouted vineyard to watch the beginning of this season's grape and raisin harvest.  I'll do my best to grab a few photos throughout the season to trace the growth of these tasty treats!
